CST - Communication Skills Test
Assesses candidates' ability to effectively understand and communicate through speech in both English and another language, with optional modules to assess industry-related terminology in both languages. Terminology modules are available for a variety of professions, including customer service, healthcare and more.
PICSI - Preliminary Interpreter Candidate Skills Interview
Assesses entry-level interpreter applicants. Evaluates the accuracy of a candidates' performance in a series of short role-play scenarios, with a separate scoring of included industry-related terminology. Available for customer service and entry-level healthcare.
HIS - Hybrid Interpreter Screening
Combines aspects of the CST and the PICSI to assess a candidates' ability to effectively understand and speak in both English and another language, and in addition evaluates accuracy of interpreting performance in a series of short role-play scenarios, with a separate scoring of included industry-related terminology.
MIPQ - Medical Interpreter Position Qualification
Assesses the proficiency of professional medical interpreters where candidates are evaluated on their performance in one or more role-play scenarios containing a mixture of high and low level medical terminology with topics from general medicine. Also includes the option to append a separate module on Interpreter Ethics, Standards of Practice and Protocol.
HIE - Hybrid Interpreter Examination
Combines aspects of the CST and the MIPQ to assess a candidates' ability to effectively understand and speak in both English and another language, and in addition evaluates accuracy of their performance in a long-form role-play scenario containing a mixture of high and low level medical terminology with topics from general medicine. Also includes the option to append specialty specific scenarios and/or a separate module on Interpreter Ethics, Standards of Practice and Protocol.
